A native of Ohio, Mr. Porter was admitted to the practice of law in North Carolina in 1995. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995 and his Bachelor of Science degree in business from Miami University (Ohio) in 1992.
Mr. Porter is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Forsyth County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Forsyth County Bar Association. Mr. Porter has been a contributor to several legal publications and is the author of the Motor Vehicle Chapter of the North Carolina General Practice Deskbook for the North Carolina Bar Foundation. He is also a guest lecturer for continuing legal education seminars.
Mr. Porter is admitted to practice in all North Carolina courts, as well as the United States District Court (both Middle and Eastern Districts of North Carolina). His practice is devoted primarily to criminal law.
